religion :: essays research papers
I do not discover that I should participate in the Pay it foregoing assignment. This assignment is telling us to go be nice to people and we volition get a good grade. If we dont do anything nice, we will not receive a good grade. I do not feel like anybody should be forced to do something nice, if they have to be forced, they shouldnt do it at all. If it is not done for the correct reasons, it doesnt mean anything. I do nice things for people. If I am in the mood and feel that I should help somebody out, I will, but I will not give them a paper and turn it in to the teacher for a grade. How impersonal is that? If I receive a paper from somebody during this project, I will not feel grateful that they performed an act of kindness for me because it is not for the right reasons. Their act of kindness is for a grade in religion class. Besides the Pay it Forward project has almost nothing in common with the movie. In the movie the little boy, Trevor, decided that he should change the world. His idea about how to do it is a good theory, but it will never work as well as anyone would hope it would. In the movie he saves a homeless man, and he took him home and gave him some money, food, and a place to sleep. He did not have to do anything at all. If I remember correctly, that assignment in the movie was for extra credit. Today we received an assignment that is worth a really healthy sum of points for the second nine weeks. Why should we have to be given grades to be nice to each other? Has the world gone that crowing? Having to basically bribe or force people to be courteous to others. That, in my opinion is wrong. This project has a good purpose but I dont feel that it is the right thing to do. People should be nice to each other all the time, not just when we get points for it. I feel obligated to go and do good and be the nicest person I can be, but I would rather be nice to individual and feel the gratification that would follow that act. I do

series reasons :: essays research papers
These are reasons from every Evangelion episode and movie. Most of the information isnt in order. I really hae to go back and fix that, but you can bonk with it for now . . .Episode I 1) Rei appears as a mirage in the the beginning. This could have many meanings, like it tell us what kind of person Shinji is. When Shinji met Rei in effort of Eva Unit 01 later in the show, he looked at her, as if hed seen her before. De ja vu = love, and I dont think they put that there for no readon. (Borrowed from Ryan Xaviers Shinji/Rei site) 2) Shinji pilots Evangelion Unit 01 (who has rejected everyone up to now) and uses it to fight the Third Angel just so Rei wont pilot it and get destroyed. We can call Rei the damsel in distress in this scene. Episode II 1) We further see Rei one in this episode, and thats when shes on a stretcher. She merely gazes at Shinji, and Shinji gazes back. We all know Rei is a thinking person, questioning her feelings. She could be contemplating why this male ch ild decided to pilot Unit 01 just so she wouldnt die. Remember, she is "expendable". Episode V 1) Shinji notices that Rei is always alone. He wonders why, and continues to think ab verboten this "girl who has no friends". 2) He gropes over her. Accident or no accident, its undeniably intamacy. Episode VI 1) Shinji burns his hands and leaves permenant marks on them while trying to pull Rei out of the entry plug. After he sees Rei is alright, he breaks down in tears. I dont remember him doing so for anyone else. 2) Rei smiles for Shinji. The firt time in her fourteen years of life she does so for another person. (Gendou doesnt count, he was a parent figure) Episode IX 1) Shinji and Asuka have been living in the same apartment, yet Shinji and Rei pull off a sodding(a) synch during the synch training. Many people have said this is because Yui Ikaris soul is within Rei. Wrong. Yuis soul is within Unit 01. The perfect synch between the two could be a gull . . . Assessing Learners Needs in Education Essay example -- essays research
Units 101 &105In this essay I sh all(prenominal) be examining the importance of accurate initial assessment of apprentices needs. In order to do this it is necessary to correctly identify my learners so that appropriate teaching methods can be structured for them. From there, I shall explore how to ruff support learners throughout their period of study, both in terms of genteelnessal support, and in terms of developing their self confidence.The students I teach are perusing toward a 2 year diploma in Creative Sound Engineering & Music Technology at Deep Blue Sound (DBS). It is earthy for the learners to come from a fairly narrow section of society. Broadly speaking, learners are male, and fall into the 16-25 age range, although there is also at least one learner in his late forties. Group sizes average between 8 and 14.The learners first point of contact, and assessment, comes through their application. This will provide us with clues to the authorisation needs of the student , including their age (and need for supervision), current understanding of the subject, and any appropriate experience or qualifications they may have. From here candidates are invited to an interview, where they are given a full tour of the facilities along with an overview of the structure of the course. The interview stage allows us to assess both their suitability for the course, both in terms of attitude and ability, and gives us an insight into their expectations and requirements, and their potential barriers to acquisition. For example, those who are not school leavers may well have obstacles to learning that their school-leaving counterparts do not share. As Armitage (1999) observes(Having a continuous learning experience from the age of 5) is generally not the case for the adult learner who may not have been involved in a formal education experience for some time and whose knowledge and expectations of education may only be based on their own school experience. Equally, th e adult re-entering the education trunk at any level has many more outside responsibilities and pressures than the younger FE or HE student.Applicants will also be tested at this stage for computer literacy.During the enrolment procedure, learners are assessed for literacy using the Smog Readability Formula (McLaughlin, G. 1969 639-646), in order to bring to light, amongst other things, potential learning dif... ...o all handouts and project briefs in electronic format, so that his computer is able to read them back to him. Once this trust has been established, the line of communication between student and teacher becomes much more free-flowing, effectively facilitating the tutors ongoing assessment of the class. In conclusion, in order for us to guarantee a victorious and enjoyable learning experience for the student, we must accurately assess the individual needs of the learner, and be aware of how dynamic these needs can be. Through maintaining abrupt channels of communicatio n between students and staff, and by providing the student with a safe place to learn, we can adapt our teaching styles to grow with the changing needs of the learner, as well as providing helpful and meaningful support for them, ensuring they receive the most effective training possible whilst studying on the course.BibliographyArmitage, A. Bad behaviour
Behavior is defined as the way a person undertakes his or her actions. Bad behaviors shtup be curbed by either positive or negative punishment. I substantiate developed a bad behavior of back biting which I am truly determined to finish. I have become a very nuisance gossiper whereby I can back bite ten neighbors in a day. Every duration I get a neighbor outside her premises, I always tell her news about the other neighbors with so oft exaggeration. I can not leave every rumor undiscussed.Since most of the stories of are not truthful, they closing curtain up reaching the person I have talked about. This behavior is costing me most of my fri dismisss hence the reason why am seriously thinking about quitting by employing positive punishment. For a start I will begin with always keeping my self busy so as to minimize the chances of meeting my neighbors. Day one I manage to hinderance indoors for most of the day but I meet some of my neighbors on my way to the grocery store and al though I restrain myself, I end up back biting ten times as usual.Day two am feeling like no matter what happens am not suppositional to talk about whateverbody but unfortunately, my next door neighbor comes visiting. One thing leads to another and I end up discussing seven of my friends. At the end of the day although I can see there is an improvement I am not comfortable. Day three I nearly swear that am no longer going to be gossiping people, because I have already realized that my greatest weakness is being close to anyone who is willing to heed to my fake news.Although the urge of talking ill about somebody is almost killing me, I do as much as I can to restrain myself but I end up gossiping five neighbors. Day four I have so much household chores to accompany to so I spend the whole day indoors and luckily, I receive two friends only who I send off immediately later on attending to them so I manage to finish the day without back biting anyone. I congratulate myself at the end of the day and see it as a day well spent. Day five I travel to visit my grannies who live hundred miles from my home.Although I do not meet with any of my neighbors, I meet an old acquaintance whom we used to live with in the same neighborhood and eventually we gossip three of my neighbors. Day six I am feeling tired due to my yesterdays traveling so I dont feel like seeing any neighbor and therefore I manage to finish the day without a single gossip Day seven I think I am getting used to not gossiping at all and in fact I dont feel the urge I had beforehand I decided to quit this bad behavior.Although I happen to meet to meet with some of my neighbors, I happen to gossip no one (Sundel, Sundel, 2005 p 130- 137) I have a major improvement although I have not stopped completely. I think that it is just a matter of time and I quit it all together. Hitting the Wall: Nike and International Labor Practices
It is ironic to see how an organization like Nike would response to its negative labor practices in quite an immature way, in particular when it carries a big brand image in the indus find out and has a lot on stake to lose with respect to its loyal clientele and prospective growth opportunities. In my opinion, Nikes approach was almost prohibitive, specifically for the initial few years.I agree, later on in May, 1998 Knight announced a series of sweeping reforms however what is shocking to me, it took Nike roughly 18 years to realize that some serious steps are needed to address the allegations and their prospective steps must go beyond and over than what they had committed themselves to. Nike was pressed by the circumstances to think this way as their bottom line had actually started to suffer.Evidently, since 1980s the corporation had been plagued by a series of labor incidents and public relations nightmares but what has astounded me is despite the criticism they insisted tha t labor conditions in its contractors factories were not could not be Nikes concern or its responsibility. Initially, Nike was moving quite fast from one country to another just to accomplish their unkept cost manufacturing ag mop upas.It is quite relevant, applicable and fair for any organization to outsource where they can save cost but it should not be on person else expense where the organization is violating human rights and/or the labor is not even making enough to meet their bare minimum necessities. All these bad fear practices of Nike got them in mainstream where they were not able to come up with innovative ideas to be in command of this bad publicity. As the matter was heating up Nike did try to address many issues which are surely commendable but the major issue of workers minimum wage was never resolved up until 1998.This is exactly where Nike was getting benefited from (low-wages). In response to the entire kiosk, Nike did draft a series of regulations for its co ntractors they also tried to be cooperative with government made organizations, hired an outside firm Ernst and Young in 1996 to audit its suppliers manufacturing facilities, created another labor practices department to keep checks and balances, hired a civil rights leader to do an independent evaluation of their calculate of conduct and so on so forth.Doing this gave birth to another problem All these were on Nikes pay roll which dilutes the purpose in itself. In the end Nikes initiatives were becoming self contradicting. Where Nike has done an awesome job is, when Knight almost surrender Nike and accepted indirectly that their company has been a part of knuckle down wages, forced overtime and arbitrary abuse and also showed his true commitment to abolish all these from Nikes business.It was not just words at this rase but some fundamental changes sacrifice been made in their existing policies and also many further effective steps were taken which were relatively appreciable. Nikes becoming a part of FLA (Fair Labor Association) was the right step in right direction but of course at very later stages. No doubts, Nike could have done many things differently. First, they should not have made a rough statement at early stages that Nike has nothing to do with what goes in their marketers facilities.Second, they could have hired a complete NGO to check and evaluate their labor practices overseas. Third, they should have taken the full responsibility right from the inception for their abuse doing acts instead of defending their image and keep executing their same old policies. Basically, what Nike has done in the end by almost confessing its all wrong doings, is what it must have done way earlier in the game. Doing this should have given a positive spin to the entire situation and must have helped Nike to save its image while making its remarkable name in the industry for using good business practices.

What is Freedom? Essay
Freedom is something that is viewed in numerous ways. Freedom rear be something you earn, something you experience, or it can be something you think. People long past had to work very hard for their freedom. thrall was one of the times that freedom was habituated to nobody, and played a major role in the United States history. Slavery began around 1619, when the outset African slaves were brought to the United States, they were workers without rights. (Slavery in America, 2014) They were told that if they worked for seven years, they would earn land and freedom. Abraham Lincoln once said, Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves. (Lincoln) In 1641 slavery was legalized, and the U.S. was a receivest itself. In 1660 King Charles II established the Royals African Company, calling them black gold, where more African Americans had their freedom taken away. In 1860 more than a million African Americans were taken from their homes and sold off. By 1865 slavery wa s finally abolished and they had their freedom to read and write, and their behavior and movement was no longer restricted.Freedom is base off your view and thought of the value it has to you, no one definition can relate to everything that freedom can mean. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, freedom is the quality of beingness free but what exactly does that mean? Does it mean you can do whatever you wish? Or does it mean everything you need is free? Jim Morrison once said, The almost important kind of freedom is to be what you really atomic number 18. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your big businessman to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There cant be any large-scale revolution until theres a in the flesh(predicate) revolution, on an individual level.Its got to happen inside first. (Morrison) Freedom within yourself can be to accept you for who you are, not be restricted on what you can do with yourself, l et your imagination be free and soar outside the limits. Let your thoughts go where they wish and keep your mind set. Don Miguel Ruiz wrote in his support The Mastery of Love, If you spend too much time judging yourself, you wont have any time to love yourself or anyone else. I imagine this quote relates to freedom because like I said before, you need to let your mind be free to be able to live with freedom.Along with having inseparable freedom, you can experience and be rewarded with freedom. Experiencing freedom is not something everyone has. As a young kid, my parents always told me Once you lose our trust its hard to gain it back. And with this always being said to you, you learned to respect the freedom that you received, and wait until you are rewarded with more. As you get older and learn to drive you are given a whole new type of freedom. There are no words to explain the type of freedom you experience, and no emotion that is any greater. soulfulness once said Never driv e faster than your guardian angel can fly. (teenage drivers, 1998- 2014) And this saying means to respect what freedom you have because some battalion have less and would give anything for your freedom.So what exactly is freedom? Well, Bubr (Bubr is someone who chose not to give their real name) once said start with the possibility to do whatever you want. You may want to share your freedom with other people, right? Then accept the fact that other people doing whatever they want are limiting your own freedom. Then, you come to the conclusion that you may not have freedom at all, if the freedom is a measure of the length of a leash. (Bubr) But, many other people have different views of freedom and it is not just what laws limit you too.Jarod Kintz said nada, Everything, Anything, Something If you have nothing, then you have everything, because you have the freedom to do anything, without the fear of losing something. Freedom is not limited to just one persons idea of it, their expe riences, feelings, thoughts, and love towards freedom. Freedom is the right to live as we wish. Nothing else. (Epictetus, 2001-2014) It is not being limited with your rights and not being restricted with reading, writing, behavior and movement. It is not constantly being told what to do and limiting your mind to please others, first give yourself freedom then help others with theirs.
